Lorraine Hansberry Postcards

15.00

A ten-pack of Lorraine Hansberry postcards with original art by local writer and artist, Dmitry Samarov.

Hansberry was the first black female author to have a play performed on Broadway. Her best known work, the play A Raisin in the Sun, highlights the lives of Black Americans living under racial segregation in Chicago.

The back of the postcard features a quote from Hansberry: "THE SUPREME TEST OF TECHNICAL SKILL AND CREATIVE IMAGINATION IS THE DEPTH OF ART IT REQUIRES TO RENDER THE INFINITE VARIETIES OF THE HUMAN SPIRIT—WHICH INVARIABLY HANGS BETWEEN DESPAIR AND JOY."
